My temporary bridge came off and my question is do i need it? It feels a lot better without it. My permanent bridge will be here in 3 weeks.

Yes, you do need the temporary bridge. The provisional bridge protects the teeth under it from decay, and holds the teeth in place.
If you have been without the temp for an extended period of time, the teeth will be susceptible to decay, and may move slightly or rise out of their sockets. When that happens, the permanent bridge will not fit when it comes back from the lab.
Go back to your dentist and have the temp re-adjusted if it does not feel right, and have it re-cemented.
