It is normal at 28 to have so much dental work? :(?

Sometimes I'm so deppresed cause of my teeth.

My parents never really afforded to take me to dentist whe I was small.

So the last 4 years I'm trying get my smile back.

I have like 5 crowns and a bridge, plus like 7 fillings done.

They are people out there like me? :(

Thanks.

yes girl... I am

i give new meaning to the phrase: put your money where your mouth is. i have 5 root canals. 6 of my eight molars have crowns.!!!!

i think i have over $20k in dental work in my mouth
Reply:Get a cup of hot tap water and get two table spoons of cooking salt and rinse while the water is hot. I promise it will help your tooth ache. I always do that and it heals the pain away instantly.
Reply:i know exactly how you feel.....when my teeth came in when i was a kid they didn't have enamel on them...my front teeth were sealed but i have at least one filling in every molar and premolar. with the way my teeth came in there is no way for me to keep from getting cavities. no matter how well i take care of my teeth they will always be like this because there is no enamel. i am SO self-concious of my teeth....i got my braces off years ago, but before that it was even worse. i would try really hard not to smile at anyone because i didn't want them to see my teeth. when i was a kid my parents couldn't do much about it because we didn't have a lot of money, and now i feel like it's too late. so don't feel like you're the only one........it's a hard thing to go through!!
Reply:Don't worry. I had good dental care up until now, I'm no longer covered under my parents health plan. I'm 23 and just very recently, I had more fillings done, fillings replaced because the fillings cracked or fell out. Currently I have about 12 or 14 fillings total in my mouth (from not brushing and flossing my teeth regularly because I am lazy), I've had braces put in, at age 17, then 4 teeth removed to make spaces for my braces. Because they removed my teeth at such an early age, and put in braces, it did some damage to my teeth because some of my teeth enamel wasn't fully developed, it cause a swirly yellow/white marks on some of my side teeth (technical term is maybe hypoplasia?). Also, I have 4 widsom teeth to be removed, 2 erupted, 2 impacted pointed towards my other teeths roots, but not pain, but they said they will have to cut into my jaw bone to remove it. Also, I was lazy and did not want to wear my retainer after my braces and some of my teeth have shift positions. Also my wisdom teeth growing in also would overcrowd the teeth in my mouth. Also, I grind my teeth a lot so they are extremely sensitive and I have to wear a nightguard at night. I also have yellow staining from drinking lots of soda when I was young, swirling it around in my mouth for fun, not knowing it would stain my teeth (cola stains). I also used to eat and chew lots of hard candy or foods. NoW I won't do it, and will diet because I need to lose the weight and I dn't think my teeth can handle more pressure. I also have a retentive pin put in an old tooth because the filling came out and there was not much tooth structure left to it, so if it comes out again, I will need crowns.
Reply:do not feel bad i am 31 years old just went to dentist on last friday to have three teeth pulled out on top now i have a partial denture
