How do I get rid off of this swallen and irritating feeling I have on my gums?

on my right upper side I have a 4 teeth dental bridge...this irritation can last up to 2 hours...I was in a process to change dentist cause last month he over charged me...for a cleaning he asked me fot $170.00 and I am planning never to go back to him....because even his behavior somethimes gets very neurotic and strange...Therefore I have to wait after the holiday to get to someone else and check the bridge I have with this irritation and swallen gums I have...but for now WHAT SHOULD I DO? ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Brush your teeth.
Reply:Have you tried flossing? If your gums hurt...you can always try some orajel until you can get a new dentist.
Reply:There are some gum numbing ointments available at your local pharmacy. I believe there is one for toothing babies that works wonders on hurt gums. Ask the pharmacist what would be best for you.
Reply:Can you brush with peroxide? If not you can use salt-water rinse, like an gargle. Also, can get some teething pills for an baby, crush them and make an paste out of them, then rub it on the gums. that might help.

Take an anti-inflammatory medicine, Advil, follow the directions.

You can take your finger, an massage it, sometimes it will relieve the pain, for a little while.

The dentist needs to go back to school for bed-side manners.

If you have too, go to an urgent care for other ideas.
