When you get bridges do they have to keep cutting and shaping the teeth on either side of the space ? If so the teeth will get worn down resulting into no tooth to support the bridge.
Dental bridges?
The two teeth that will support the bridge will be prepared just like the would to support a crown (or cap). Theses crowns will be on either side of the artificial teeth and slide on to the existing two supporting teeth. It is permanently cemented in place and you will not be able to take it out. See the link below for a full description and a diagram
Reply:When you get a bridge, you will have to have crowns put on the teeth that are on each side of the hole you are filling. so.. you will have a crown.. the artificial tooth, then another crown..
They dont cut and shape anything, they literally make an impression of the existing teeth, and the dentist lab makes an artificial tooth to fill in the blank.. and when you get it inserted, it will be permanent, and you wont know the difference between that and your other permanent teeth. You will first have a temporary, and about 2 weeks later, the permanent bridge will be inserted. It's really not a big deal, and soon you will have no idea which one is artificial and which one is not. Pretty creative dentistry.
Reply:The dentist must fileing (grinding)about 1,5-2milimetres on the each face of the tooth then took the impression. You will get anaestetics ,doesn't hurt.
