Do Dental bridges last a long time?
They don't really wear out but you can get recurrent decay, or perio problems %26amp; loose the teeth in later yrs. Have it checked every yr!! Doc W
Reply:if they're done well, they can last 10-15 yrs. but you have to keep it maintained by getting regular check-ups and making sure you keep it cleaned. ask your dentist how long they last.
Reply:I going to assume that you are in fact getting a permanent cemented in place bridge and not a removable bridge. The life expectancy of a permanent bridge depends on your overall health and oral hygiene maintenance procedures. If your health stays good and your oral hygien is good you could very well have the bridge for the rest of your life. A "removable bridge" however, functions with the highest efficiency for five to eight years. The reason most removable bridges need replaced is simply because the artificial teeth become worn to the point the jaw positioning is altered and that could create jaw joint problems if left unresolved.
