Dental bridges?

are temporary bridges made of the same material as the permanent one and if your temporary bridge stains from smoking, will the permanent one do the same?

Dental bridges?
NO!! Dental bridges are made of metal and ceramic (Usually), some are just ceramic. They will not stain any differently than regular teeth do. The temporary they put on is usally made of resin (plastic) and they do stain and get pretty gross. They are temporary only that is why you have to have the permanant one put in a few weeks later.
Reply:Yes.
Reply:Hi! I've been in dentistry for over 25 years. NO, the temp is a plastic type material that will stain and wear down in time. The permanent will NEVER stain or break down unless you crack it chewing ice cubes or have a serious accident. Porcelain is like your dish wear, does that stain? No. In fact the color you choose, or your dentist does is permanent, so make sure it matches your own natural teeth. Often I have my patients bleach their teeth so I can get an exact match and this is for life. If you have any other questions, please ask. The permanent bridge can last you for a very long time if you brush, floss and keep the gums healthy. Good luck, you will be fine I promise. Marie
