Are there any alternatives to a dental bridge for a missing tooth?

Yes. A partial denture that replaces missing teeth or an implant. Implants are expensive, but far superior as long as you have good bone structure. If the bone structure is just a bit thin, a bone graft can be done to give a solid foundation for the implant. Implants are expensive, but more insurance companies are starting to pay at least 50%.

implant
Reply:I used to work at a periodontist. Implant is the best way to go. They last longer and they are more solid. Check with your insurance. They are not cheap.

Good Luck!
Reply:Yes, a dental implant. I had a molar removed because my tooth fractured. I was given the choice between the bridge and the implant. I went with the implant because in order to have a bridge put on they have to file down a perfectly normal tooth in front of it, as well as in back, for the bridge to work.
Reply:you can have an implant but there are very expensive or a denture but that can be a bit uncomfortable or if you happy enough and you don't notice the gap leave it the choice as they say is yours
Reply:You have 3 choices for a missing tooth....cheapest to most expensive and also in relevance to how good they are:

1. Removable partial denture....also called a spider partial or Nesbitt.

2. Fixed Bridge...where the teeth on either side of the missing tooth are prepared to hold the false tooth in place permanently.

3. Dental implant and crown.
Reply:implants or mini dentures
