Since you do not have fluoridated water, you should supplement in some way: toothpaste, fluoride mouthrinse (available at the local drugstore). This is *especially* important for kids, whose teeth are still developing.

If you do not want to lose yet another tooth, you'd be wise to consider saving one that is broken in 3 places.

The kind of bridge you are talking about is not new. It's called a Maryland (sometimes Virginia) bridge. Inside of making the bridge with crowns (caps) that go over the teeth adjacent to the space, the bridge is made with wings which fit to the backs of the teeth. They are not appropriate for all situations, but work well when used appropriately.

It sounds like you are missing a least a couple of teeth. You might want to have a conversation with your dentist about how to prevent the loss of more.
